Image
Thank you to everyone who has helped us -- club members, visitors and teachers -- on our journey in 2022. Our 20th anniversary year was full of achievements. It brought disappointment and great sadness, but also brought the joys of friendship and connection. This year brings the Australian Kendo Championships to Melbourne for the first time in many years. Easter 2023 will be a chance for us to take part in the running of this special event. Our first beginners' course starts 25 February. To secure a place, fill out the online enrolment form . Course fees are payable at the first class. For more information about what to expect, see the About and FAQ pages. If you still have questions, contact the club secretary via secretary dot nanseikan at gmail dot com. Other dates for this year on our D ates page. Let's face 2023 with renewed hope and the desire to do our best in each and every training, grading and competition. 修証一如 The goal and the destination are one.

Akemashite omedetogozaimasu!  Happy New Year and wishing you all the best for a happy, fulfilling and injury-free 2017! This year let's train hard and be vigilant about keeping our Kendo from settling on what is easy. Let's always push to make a little better the new normal. Team App The VKR is now using TeamApp for all notifications. This is very handy because it means all VKR members, not just club administrators, can be aware of all upcoming events as soon as they are published. Information goes from the VKR Executive direct to all members who use the app. To find out what to do, go to the TeamApp page of our website .

あけましておめでとうございます! Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu! I hope everyone has a healthy and rewarding 2015. First training is on 31 January. Term one at Nanseikan sees a new beginners' course starting on 21 Feb and gradings in March. During the Easter break also sees the Australian Kendo Championships , to be held the weekend of Easter Saturday and Sunday at MSAC, Albert Park. There will be a great need for volunteers to help set-up, run, and pack up the event. Please have a think about your availability over that weekend and let me know. Our focus this term will be footwork , not just the different forms of footwork but also timing, rhythm and distance.

Akemashite omedetougozaimasu! Some of this year's date have now been entered here . Specifically the dates for kyu gradings are: Sunday 9 March and Sunday 14 September . Please put these dates in your diary and make it a focus of your training to reach the next grade. We should also enter this year's competitions, such as the MUKEN Taikai (May), Otsuka Memorial Cup (July) and the Mumeishi 3's (December). I hope we all have great year of training and success in Kendo this year.

Happy Year of the Dragon!

Welcome back and あけましておめでとうございます! This year we will be doing a few things a little differently , like having beginners' courses instead of letting new people start any time. We will also be a bit more strict on paying dojo fees this year as well. From now on, all dojo fees need to be paid on the first day of training for the whole term in advance. There will be no paying week to week, as it becomes too hard to keep track of who has paid. Also, this year is our tenth year, so we will be having a special celebration after our Kangeiko in the middle of the year. I hope we can get in touch with a few past members and have them come along as well. More details soon. Training starts next Saturday 4 Feb. The first of our two beginners' courses for 2012 starts two weeks later. See you all then!
